Links Policy
From time to time, we get questions from very
polite readers and webmasters about how we decide who and what
to include in the links section. The most honest answer is that
we make it up as we go along. Still, there are some general policies
that are mostly followed, and it seems only fair to let you know
about them.
- We link to content.
Hopefully, the links are to sites that readers will find interesting
or useful. That content may be essays, poems, pictures, compilations,
even a well-organized link site. We're a little reluctant to
link to commercial products sites, but sites with an emphasis
on safe-sex products or interesting toys do get linked. In general,
we won't link to a site that looks to be nothing more than a
professional resumé, or that appears to be little more
than a product ad. We will link to sites that have pay sections,
but only if there is substantial free content. If a reader has
to pay to see any real material, we think you should be advertising
and not asking for a link.
- Our links are not reciprocal. This is not because we're particularly high-minded,
and certainly not because we (please, please, please link to
us) don't want to be linked to. It's because we don't have the
time to negotiate reciprocal links and still get the magazine
published. We sell advertising, but links are a service to readers,
and we won't refuse to link just because you haven't linked to
us.
- We'll pull it if you don't like it. If you think we've been unfair, or you just don't
want a luke-warm comment about your fabulous site, we'll cheerfully
pull the link. We also make mistakes, and we'll correct anything
that we agree is wrong about the link text. But we won't say
something we think isn't true, or "glam-up" the text
just because you want it that way. And that's another reason
we don't do reciprocal links.
- We take suggestions.
If you have a site, or know of a site that you think should be
here, let us know. Send suggestions to webeditor@cleansheets.com.
- We're mostly a great erotic magazine,
not a links site. If we're slow responding
on this section, or if the links section is smaller than you'd
like, we plead other priorities. We hope you love the magazine
content (because we certainly do), and we think that's mostly
what we're about. Still, if there are errors or broken links
here, let us know.
That's it -- end of lecture. Thanks for reading,
and enjoy Clean Sheets.
